About Lynn

Welcome to Yoga with Lynn Jensen!

I’ve been teaching yoga for over 25 years, with a focus on teaching women to support their physical, emotional, spiritual, energetic and hormonal health with specialized yoga practices.

Following several years of fertility challenges, and then at last the arrival of my son, I envisioned a yoga program that would be designed specifically to support women who are trying to conceive. So in 2002, I developed my Yoga for Fertility program, which has since helped thousands of women and couples become parents.  Since then, I have taught weekly Yoga for Fertility continuously for over 20 years. To reach those not able to take my classes directly, I co-authored the book Yoga and Fertility, A Journey to Health and Healing, the first book dedicated to supporting fertility with yoga.

Around 10 years ago, I began incorporating techniques from some of the other practices I had been studying into my yoga classes, including energy medicine and qigong. My EnerQi Yoga classes developed from this integration of energetic practices.  I often bring these techniques into my fertility and healthy hormones classes now too, given how simple yet powerful they are.

While teaching Yoga for Midlife Women classes, I was invited to develop and teach the yoga curriculum for a National Institutes of Health study researching the effect of yoga on hot flashes. I also taught Yoga for Women classes at Microsoft HQ for over a decade, integrating yoga and energy medicine to help with stress reduction and counter the effects of mostly sedentary jobs.

I feel so fortunate to be able to teach the yoga I am passionate about, especially supporting women’s fertility and hormonal health, while exploring other energetic practices.  It has been a gradual and extremely rewarding shift to teaching yoga full-time, from my earlier career managing international sales and marketing for software companies!

My Teachers

My yoga teaching is based on my own personal experience dealing with fertility challenges, as well as extensive yoga training with many internationally-recognized yoga teachers. I’m grateful to Angela Farmer, Rod Stryker, Julie Gudmestad, Lauren Walker and my long-time teacher Bob Smith, author of “Yoga for a New Age”, as well as many others, for generously sharing their vast knowledge of yoga.

I’m also grateful to the intuitive healer, Donna Eden, for introducing me to energy medicine concepts, and to Lauren Walker for offering her master teacher program in Energy Medicine Yoga. I have tremendous gratitude to my Qigong masters from China, Claire and Jerigtu, for their dedicated practice and incredible wisdom.

My yoga practice and teaching reflect the combined wisdom of these highly experienced master teachers, as well as my long-time personal study and practice.

My Certifications

E-RYT 500, C-IAYT, RPYT, MBA

These acronyms translate to: Registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance at the Experienced 500-hour teaching level, Certified Yoga Therapist with the International Association of Yoga Therapists, and registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance. I also hold a certification of Master Teacher of Energy Medicine Yoga from Lauren Walker, and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Washington.

♥ Teaching Teachers

As part of my goal to help women everywhere overcome fertility challenges and have healthy pregnancies, I developed my Yoga for Fertility Teacher Training. It’s been exciting to share my fertility yoga program with yoga teachers around the world.

I’ve been offering teacher trainings in the U.S. and internationally since 2014. Since then, I’ve trained hundreds of yoga teachers in the U.S., Canada, Europe, Latin America and Asia, who are now teaching Yoga for Fertility. Now, so many more women and couples have access to the support of Yoga for Fertility in their own language, in their local areas.

Beyond Yoga

When not doing or teaching yoga, I enjoy spending time in the beautiful natural areas near my home in Seattle. Favorite activities include hiking, camping, kayaking, skiing, reading and singing kirtan.  I also enjoy local and international travel. The photo is from a recent kayaking trip in Glacier Bay, Alaska.
